At the wonderful Art Basel Miami 2018 showcase, you can’t miss the outstanding Kasmin’s participation. Paul Kasmin Gallery was founded in SoHo in 1989 and, since then, its program focus on historic modernist and post-war artists and on the dialogue between them and the most recent aspiring talents.
The gallery supports Constantin Brancusi, William N. Copley, Max Ernst, Simon Hantaï, Jane Freilicher and Robert Motherwell. Its goal is also to start the development of artistic careers. Among the contemporary artists, Kasmin represents, we can mention: Walton Ford, Robert Indiana, Iván Navarro, Les Lalanne and Roxy Paine.
Thanks to its own exhibition spaces in Chelsea, New York, the gallery loves to organize exceptional showcases and it never turns its back on the major international art fairs.
In the fall of 2018, the gallery opened its newest and largest space at 509 West 27th Street, which will, hopefully, help the expansion of the gallery’s mark in the art and design fields and provide a way to continue its curatorial mission.
The new structure will also include a planted roof specially designed for the exhibition of monumental sculptures, which will offer new, innovative and exciting possibilities for future art projects.
The gallery does not forget how important artistic knowledge is, so it is dedicated to promoting the academic research of its artists and their pieces. Kasmin also published useful scholarly books, including William N. Copley X-Rated, Simon Hantaï’s Blancs, Alexander the Great: The Iolas Gallery 1955-1987, Impasse Ronsin and the first English translated monograph-scaled book of Max Ernst’s sculpture. In the spring of 2018, the gallery published a catalogue raisonné about Lee Krasner’s Umber Paintings.
We can’t wait to check out Kasmin’s booth at the Art Basel Miami 2018 fair.
