In the heart of Venice, Venetia Studium’s workshops produce the finest handcrafted design pieces. Their precious treasures are now being exhibited at Hall 11, E 34, in iSaloni 2019, don’t miss your chance to admire them.
The studio’s activities range from the exclusive production of the unique Fortuny ® Lamps to the creation of interior design items, such as cushions, tapestries, table runners, curtains and clothing accessories, like scarves, dresses and bags.
The desire of the Company’s founder, Lino Lando, is to bring to life new pieces which evoke an ancient language of elegance and good taste, a dream he shares with his sons Luca and Matteo.
Venice is the birthplace of Fortuny ® Lamps and it is Venice that gives them their atmosphere and color palletes. It is the city itself with its continuously transforming reflections which allows Venetia Studium’s works of art to inherit the legacy of the ancient master artisans, forging excellence.
Founded in 1984 by Lino Lando, nowadays the company employs about 50 talented artisans, artists and designers. The headquarters are at Palazzo Zuccato, a charming 18th Century palace, few steps away from S. Mark’s Square in some of the most elegant shopping areas around the world.
Venetia Studium creatively embodied Fortuny’s multi-cultural aspects. Thanks to their lighting designs everyone can experience the union of cultures and aesthetics: there are Spanish, Persian, Islamic, classical Greek, Renaissance and the great Venetian Art of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, influences hidden in each precious piece.
Among all, the strongest influences from the western culture are Spanish, as Fortuny was born in Granada, the ancient Moorish Capital of Spain; and Italian, as his home was in Venice since 1889. Arabic was the strongest non-Western culture to him.
The mesmerizing details of these lighting designs prove that makers put their heart and soul into everything their hands create, with supreme attention to every single piece and only using high quality materials. All of them are true sculptures born from skillful hands, which own a timeless beauty able to dignify any ceiling, spreading the soft illumination to both the small and large rooms.
