Simone Cenedese, one of the best european master artisans dedicated to glass sculpture, started working in a glass furnace created by his grandfather when he was still a boy. Through his work, Simone got involved the family tradition of glasswork and gathered the key elements required for developing this art and creating designs. Artistic ability, creativity and the mastering of refined and exclusive techniques as well as the use of a wide chromatic range of pure and brilliant glass have developed into new ideas, creations and projects.
Simone also produces works in cooperation with designers and architects. He worked on the creation of monumental projects, such as the giant glass Christmas tree that was exhibited in St. Mark’s Square. Additionally, Simone developed lamps and lighting equipment that place special attention on modern shapes and colors and the continuous innovation of Murano glass tradition.
It takes time and skill to become a master glassmaker and learn all the secrets of this ancient handcraft. Simone sees glass as an open work, creating new nuances and colors every time he makes a new shape. He interprets this material as visual poetry, which at a simple glance can fill the soul with emotions.
Simone takes great pride in the trademark “Vetro Artistico® Murano” that to him represents the story of a unique island where glass, as if by magic, has grown to become pure art. When walking through the streets of Murano, Simone perceives everything as if it were glass, the colors of the houses and the fire of the ovens. The technical quality and the beauty of his compositions made Simone Cenedese, as a master glassmaker, the chosen one for many international contemporary designers who entrust their concepts to the creative inspiration of the Muranese artist.
Essenza del Colore was created from a large piece of blown glass by combining two different colors. To do so Simone Cenedese uses the “Incalmo” technique. Transparent glass is incorporated into the blown glass creating color nuances. Maintaining the glass at a constant temperature, various layers of transparent glass are added while working and shaping the glass until reaching the desired form. This is an ancient technique of working glass and takes a considerable amount of time to finish.
The colors of the glass vases Essenza del Colore and Essenza del Colore GAS edition, are obtained with a special glassworking technique.
