The remarkable artist Eric Schmitt<\/strong> gave Covet Foundation the opportunity for an exclusive interview and here we are to share his artistic vision on his craftsmanship<\/strong><\/em><\/u>.<\/p>\n

Craftsmanship: \u201cU coffee table\u201d (2017).\u00a0Schmitt<\/a> always tries to balance his pieces\u2019 ornaments, creating tables and consoles in folded bronze<\/strong> or associated with materials which contrast with the rigidity of the metal. When asked what was his favorite art piece from all the ones he had the chance to create so far, Eric had no doubts: \u201cIt is definitely the \u201cJarre table\u201d. It has a modernity drawn from the past that makes it fit anywhere. I have one at home, and it has been in the kitchen, in the hall, outside in the garden. As it is made of bronze<\/strong> and marble<\/strong> it is not easy to move, but this piece immediately gives the place a calm and peaceful atmosphere.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Talking about new projects, Eric revealed: \u201cI am working on a project for the Royal Manufacture of S\u00e8vres . I am designing a collection of lighting<\/strong> and side tables in porcelain<\/strong>. I am also working for another Royal Manufacture \u201cThe Gobelin\u201d on a project of tapestry<\/strong>. It is very exciting to be able to use this incredible know how<\/strong> to work with the different workshops of these very old manufactures. I also just finished a collection of rugs and fabrics for Perrenials.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
