Tomorrow, London Craft Week<\/strong><\/em><\/u> will finally open its doors and we couldn\u2019t be more excited to discover all the wonderful surprises the event has being planning for us.<\/p>\n

The talented jewellers Jed Green<\/strong><\/a> and Sarah Pulvertaft<\/a><\/strong> and embroiderer Beatrice Mayfield<\/a><\/strong> will combine their skills and aesthetics to create new pieces exploring creative materials. On Saturday 11 May, we will be able to hear them in a conversation with curator Annabelle Campbell<\/strong> discussing their own techniques and experiences with the finest craftsmanship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLOT 1\u201d, for example, was born from a collaboration between Sarah Pulvertaft, Jed Green and Beatrice Mayfield. Together they used a wide range of materials: precious and non-precious, resistant and non-resistant, uncommon and common, which they transformed into stunningly handcrafted unique pieces<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLOT 1\u201d focuses on each of the maker<\/strong>\u2019s special materials. Over time they created three pieces in partnership. Each started a piece, which was passed on, with the next artist working based on the given elements. There was little discussion between them, since they choose to answer directly through the work rather than designing as a trio. This pushed their creativity in groundbreaking ways and encouraged them to work both within and beyond their usual traditional techniques<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

These pieces, alongside a new masterpiece from each of them, form an installation sited within Retrouvius\u2019 architectural salvage warehouse to create a substantially luxurious exhibition<\/strong> environment.<\/p>\n
