In this year\u2019s edition of NYCxDesign<\/strong><\/em><\/u>, Murano x Brooklyn<\/em> will surprise the visitors with a live glassmaking performance featuring Luca Nichetto, Marc Thorpe, and KEEP Brooklyn, at UrbanGlass. The one-of-a-kind pieces will be designed and produced live at UrbanGlass by the Brooklyn-based designers Adam Holtzinger and Susan Spiranovich of KEEP Brooklyn, and will be exhibited at WantedDesign Brooklyn at Industry City from May 16 to 20.<\/p>\n

\n\"NYCxDesign

NYCxDesign: \u201cRotea\u201d. It is from the careful and precise spinning movement applied to the hot liquid glass that Rotea pendant lamps collection takes its name and features. \u201cRoteare\u201d, the Italian word for \u201ctwirling\u201d, is the technique used by master craftsmen in Murano to create the blown glass covers of Rotea. Apple shaped as a tribute to the New Yorker brand, the shades are available in four different versions, with white thin stripes on transparent or shaded globes and darker irregular stripes on white globes, highlighting the wisdom of the artisanal gesture through the uniqueness of each piece. Fixed to a black chrome structure, the internal light bulb brightens the distinctive textures of Rotea, generating light effects through the transparencies and opacities, producing a precious atmosphere. Nichetto Studio<\/strong>, founded by Luca Nichetto in 2006 at Venice, Italy, works with several brands from all around the world, and its expertise is coveted across all design fields.\u00a0It owns a deep passion and knowledge in industrial and craft manufacturing processes and the design studio unique position within both Scandinavian and Italian design culture gave it worldwide recognition.<\/p>\n

Like the old master artisans, they maintain a small team-based glassmaking studio, crafting glass the same way it was done thousands of years ago.<\/p>\n
