This talented artist<\/strong> hates to reveal himself, so he lets his soul communicate through his art pieces.<\/p>\n

The arch of a marble cabinet<\/strong> or the silhouette of a \u201cJarre\u201d table which seem to be there for all eternity evoke his childhood spent in Poitou<\/strong> of the Romanesque churches.<\/p>\n

He started as a self-taught artist <\/strong>and artisan<\/strong> who created alone all his first pieces with skill and dedication: his urban, barbarian and rock\u2019n roll period was punctuated by the piercing beat of his sledge hammer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Schmitt<\/a> always tries to balance his pieces\u2019 ornaments, creating tables and consoles in folded bronze<\/strong> or associated with materials which contrast with the rigidity of the metal<\/strong>. His aesthetic is also marked by curved shapes.<\/p>\n

In his workshop<\/strong>, at the edge of the Fontainebleau\u00a0forest, creations are born inspired by organic forms and symbolic nature, light and density, the past and the future. This artist\u2019s pieces are\u00a0almost indestructible, relics of a civilization still to be invented which exhibited the finest craftsmanship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

His sketch<\/strong> becomes a technical\u00a0drawing<\/strong>\u00a0and model<\/strong> before being\u00a0entrusted to the best craftsmen<\/strong>, metalworkers<\/strong>, glassmakers <\/strong>and marble workers<\/strong>. In the end, the piece is patinated\u00a0and assembled. Eric Schmitt\u2019s art is in perpetual evolution.<\/p>\n
