\u201cScudo Saraceno\u201d. The shield-like Silk shape, decorated with Ottoman motifs and the configuration of its sections starting out from the center, create a wonderful \u201csun-like\u201d effect. Decorated and molded on metal structures, silk, incomparable filter of light, transforms each lamp into a genuine and authentic sculpture, elegant, charming and timeless. The studio\u2019s activities range from the exclusive production of the unique Fortuny \u00ae Lamps<\/strong> to the creation of interior design items, such as cushions, tapestries, table runners, curtains and clothing accessories, like scarves, dresses and bags.<\/p>\n

\u201cSheherazade\u201d. A silk lamp with an evocative name conjuring up the magnificence of the Orient as well as the spell of the mythical \u201cSaisons russes\u201d by Djagilev, SCHEHERAZADE reassumes stylistic elements of Chinese flavor and Turkish-Venetian ornamental motifs. Founded in 1984 by Lino Lando, nowadays the company employs about 50 talented artisans, artists <\/strong>and designers<\/strong>. The headquarters are at Palazzo Zuccato, a charming 18th Century palace, few steps away from S. Mark\u2019s Square in some of the most elegant shopping areas around the world.<\/p>\n

Venetia Studium creatively embodied Fortuny\u2019s multi-cultural<\/strong> aspects. Thanks to their lighting designs<\/strong> everyone can experience the union of cultures and aesthetics: there are Spanish, Persian, Islamic, classical Greek, Renaissance and the great Venetian Art<\/strong> of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, influences hidden in each precious piece.<\/p>\n

Among all, the strongest influences from the western culture are Spanish, as Fortuny was born in Granada, the ancient Moorish<\/strong> Capital of Spain; and Italian<\/strong>, as his home was in Venice since 1889. Arabic<\/strong> was the strongest non-Western culture to him.<\/p>\n
