Sèvres is one of the exhibitors you can’t miss at PAD Monaco 2019, specially if you are a true admirer of fine craftsmanship as we are. Don’t forget to visit them at stand 16 in the remarkable art and collectible design fair. Sèvres is a essential milestone in the history of European porcelain production. The manufacture, built on the initiative of Louis XV’s mistress Madame de Pompadour, found a special harmony between the craftsmanship in the 18th century and modern elegance. Their pieces are still coveted all around the world by art curators and collectors.

Maintaining its missions and vision, the Manufacture Nationale de Sèvres offers on-site residencies to international artists and designers who explore and experiment with ceramics in their own unique style, particularly porcelain, a material as fascinating as it is complex.

Guest artists can draw inspiration from Sèvres’ vast repertoire of several hundred forms. They also have access to its exceptional palette of over a thousand colors, which can be further enriched by new shades upon their request.

The Manufacture’s resident artists and its artisans will also benefit from a constant creative dialogue. This way, new works of art and decorative objects will be born and enrich Sèvres’ history and heritage, before their acquisition by collectors, cultural institutions and the Palaces of the French Republic.

In its first participation at PAD Monaco, Sèvres will present one of the most emblematic pieces in the history of the Manufacture, the “Vaisseau à mât vase”, of which only a few can be admired in the largest art collections around the world. This exceptional new edition will be exhibited next to contemporary creations made in collaboration with internationally renowned artists and designers, such as Julio Le Parc and Matali Crasset.
