Wood Metamorphosis, an exclusive wooden stool masterpiece that brings back the ancestral wood carving technique to shape elements of the natural world as decorative patterns in contemporary design. This unique stool is born to challenge the tradicional concepts of the craftsmanship in CULTURE, creative hub.
Conceived and sculpted thanks to the genial and talented master Júlio Leal who brings to life this luxury artpiece which is applied to contemporary design, in collaboration with the pair of designers Elias Marques and Sérgio Correia. The plastic artist, Hugo Santos, transferred the wood carving design into the work object.
The Wood Metamorphosis is a collectible artwork that has a naturalistic inspiration, as we can confirm in the natural material used with carving as its only transformation. With wood as base, the pattern of the wood carving gradually starts to appear in the original shape of the Carved stool, from Boca do Lobo collection, thanks to the detailed handmade work of the master artisan who dedicate all his life to this art.
After long days the process of creation find the most harmonious path to transform the authentic natural wood into artistic human shapes, happens full of sensibility and intelligence, while simultaneously achieving for change and for aesthetical harmony.
Wood Metamorphosis is a real exemple that the legacy of Arts & Crafts and the ancestral technique enriches a present-day design objet. The artpiece is a part of ARTsTOOL Collection conceived by the Culture for Arts & Crafts, a project supported by Covet Foundationwhere artisans, plastic artists, and designers keep alive the spirit of experimentation by challenging manufacturing skills of finest Craftsmanship to create the artpieces of excellence.
